BES burger

BES - chilean bass

BES - chocolate cake

Mood: an eye for flair… artsy-esque decor… down right good food

Tastes Like: whatever kind of mood you’re in for, you can find it here.  Burgers, steak, lamb and seafood… all wonderful options… I love the burger here, served over harissa aioli sauce and truffled brioche bun.  It’s made from organic meat and the fries, though on the thick side, are crispy.   If you love lamb, try the Australian lamb chops here.  Seared perfectly on the medium rare side, served with a side of polenta and cherry tomatoes.  Magnificent!  My friends have tried the snapper here and told me it was wonderful.  It looked wonderful and let’s face it, who doesn’t like corn?  My least favorite was the Chilean Sea Bass..mainly because of the way it was prepared.  It was steamed, versus seared and broiled.  It didn’t have a nice crust on top… fish was fresh, however, I wish it was just prepared a little differently.  I would probably try the snapper or the lobster ravioli next.

Must Haves: Burger

Stay Away: Chilean Sea Bass

Ambiance: Funky, vibrant portraits and art galore, a big white dollhouse in the back restaurant that serves as a window pane to the kitchen.  Freaky yes, but unique.

Service: We have become regulars so they know us and we are always treated well :)

Rating: 5 stars

Caveat: The menu is very limited, but offerings are wonderful, I promise.

Mood: Extremely tasty and light lunch in a neigborhoodie environment.

Tastes Like: Well seasoned, simple and all sorts of delight.  A co-worker and I stumbled and wandered around one luncheon afternoon in Soho.  For the life of us, we couldn’t decide where to go… thanks to yelp, I found this place with considerable amount of positive reviews.  To both of our heart’s content, we found a winner of another lunch spot in the area.  YAY!  Sister company to Snack Taverna, also on the list of my place of eats!  If you seriously like Greek food, you will easily love this place.

Must Have: Beet salad

Ambiance: 5 tables  Seriously.. people waiting for tables to turn made me slightly uncomfortable.

Service: Helpful & quick! Mama mia.
