Mood: One of the better Malaysian foods in NYC… if you are unsure of what you want, but want something Asian… this place has an abundance of varieties to choose from. rice, noodles, stir fry, soups… etc.

Tastes Like: a hearty meal that can’t be beat… Trust me when I say, you can’t go wrong.  There is a ridiculous amount of choices to choose from, whether you’re in the mood for noodles, rice, dry, soup, fried, seafood, beef, tofu, etc….. I have two personal favorite dishes here: the roti canai appetizer, lightly panfried cake with chicken curry dip and the Hainanese chicken, boiled chicken to room temperature served over sweet soy sauce, with a sweet duck sauce on the side.  I assure you, all the food here tastes a lot better than it looks.  (Hence, no pictures).. I just haven’t found a way to make this stuff look pretty yet….

Must Have: Hainese chicken (delicious sweet soy dip with sweet & sour) & roti canai (curry pancake dip).  It’s sweet, savory, thick, hearty delicious.

Stay Away: ginger chicken, not good. basically sauteed with a few sprouts of ginger.  I would also advise against their stir fry noodle dishes.  so unoriginal, unauthenticated.

: wooden tables & surrounding, aspire to a homey cabin feel.   While they may not have done this on purpose to achieve it, has a homestyle, homebody feel to the place.  It’s kind of like visiting your grandparents, it’s nice but YOU would never want to live there.

Service: It’s been pretty decent so far…

Rating: 4 stars

Caveat: Cash only!  Also, I’m wary of their pan fried noodle dishes, heavily sopped in oil.  The first few bites are great…but after multiple bites, it becomes somewhat of a chore.  I would try to share as much as possible
